The DAVOSA Newton Pilot Automatic celebrates functional reduction. The precise Swiss automatic movement DAV 3021ND displays the seconds in addition to the hours and minutes and dispenses with the date display.
This creates a perfect symmetry that finds a stage on the dial surface of fine sunburst. The impression and brilliance of fine sunbeams, as experienced on a sunrise in the cockpit, lend the timepiece a touch of subtle sophistication and elegance.
RELIABLE READABILITY
INSTRUMENT LOOK DIAL
A striking triangle marks the “12” o’clock position; in the past, a cursory glance had to suffice for pilots to recognise the position of the hands beyond doubt in order to reliably read the time. The large Arabic numerals and additional indexes as well as the diamond-shaped hands underline the good readability. In addition, all elements are noctilucent thanks to the use of the latest luminous material SuperLumiNova BG W9, which illuminates the dial with a blue glow in the dark.
FUNCTIONAL DETAILS
GRIP CROWN
The conical crown is designed with its shape and external fluting so that it can also be easily operated by gloved hands. An important element, the usual “uniform” of the aviation pioneers of days gone by consisted, among other things, of a leather cap, flying goggles and leather gloves.
DAV 3021ND
SKELETONISED DAVOSA ROTOR
The Newton Pilot is powered by kinetic energy generating by your arm’s movement, which sets the skeletonised, Geneva-striped rotor, visible through the screw-down glass back,in motion. The energy generated in this way tensions the mainspring and builds up a power reserve of about 40 hours. DAVOSA’s watchmakers have regulated the movement with particular precision to achieve a rate deviation corresponding to the elaboré grade.
PURIST DESIGN
ROBUST LEATHER STRAPS
The Newton Pilot Automatic stands for first-class manufacturing and design quality. It combines a clear design line with a multitude of carefully crafted details. A puristically smooth cowhide strap completes the functional look of the Newton Pilot. The hand-stitched bright seams not only look good, they also provide additional stability and resilience.

Condition
All watches are categorised as brand new, preloved and so on. Vintage watches are shown as they are. For new watches we use some manufacturers' promotional pictures, but any limited edition numbers shown are those of the actual watch.
What we do and don't do
Each watch is fully inspected and is working as it should: hands turn freely, the date changes where fitted, and the watch winds. To bring you great prices we do not service every watch, and we recommend you do so regularly to keep it in good working order.
We bench test each watch for timekeeping and accept a tolerance of two minutes either way. If you have any concerns we are happy to send you a TIMEGRAPH reading with a picture of your watch in test. Some of the more expensive watches have been serviced by third party specialists, and where that is the case the service record is supplied with the watch and shown on the product page.
Watches are not tested for functionality and timekeeping over longer periods of time. For this reason, long-term performance is excluded from our warranty once the returns window has closed. This does not affect your statutory rights.
We aim to supply vintage watches in the best possible condition, but some wear must be expected due to age. This is shown in the pictures supplied. Please ask if you would like more pictures of any particular feature.
